Modern tactical geomorphs

Create original maps in the GDW Assault format

Choose a preconfigured blank geomorphic setup, then develop an original modern tactical battlefield with the appropriate grid, numbering, map edges, and terrain configuration already in place.

Geomorphic setup

What the blank template preconfigures

The GDW Assault preset supplies the map dimensions, hex grid, numbering, compatible map edges, and a starting modern tactical terrain configuration. The blank board is ready to connect with other maps made to the same format.

  • Preconfigured board dimensions
  • Grid and hex numbering
  • Geomorphic map edges
  • Modern tactical terrain setup

Map characteristics

Connected modern tactical battlefields

Assault-format maps coordinate their edges while presenting terrain at a tactical scale. Roads can cross from board to board; settlements, woods, water, elevation, and other relevant terrain remain readable within the numbered hex grid.

Relevant tools

Draw routes, settlements, woods, and terrain

Use editable roads and Vector Paint for long routes, then add modern settlements, buildings, woods, water, hills, boundaries, and map-edge features. Urban Strip can place buildings automatically along regular or Vector Paint roads while keeping the roadway clear.

  • Roads and long vector routes
  • Settlements and Urban Strip
  • Woods, water, and elevation
  • Geomorphic edges and numbering

Start configured, stay flexible

Every template setting can be changed

Change dimensions, hex pitch, numbering, edges, terrain definitions, artwork, or output whenever an original project needs to depart from the starting format.
